Federal and state officials are asking the public and horticultural businesses to spot and report the box tree moth to the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s (ODA) Plant Pest Reporter. Boxwood is an important ornamental shrub that is a valuable part of Ohio’s nursery stock economy. The box tree moth is an invasive pest from East Asia that poses a threat to boxwood plantings and the horticulture industry. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has confirmed the detection of the box tree moth (BTM) near the border of Hamilton and Clermont counties. The department employs a Service Director, two supervisors and 14 full time employees. ![]() The Miami Township Service Department is responsible for maintenance of all Township roads, parks, cemeteries, buildings and vehicles. ![]()
